At TRaditions, it has always been about love.

Before starting TRaditions, Tara Rose worked in the children’s photography industry for fifteen years.

Starting as a mall photographer making $5.25 an hour, Tara worked to an executive level position in a large photography company. Tara had both a knowledge and a heart for the business, and she immediately saw opportunities to improve the youth photography industry as a whole. She desired to reset the standards- to give parents a positive experience and to nurture the passion and build the careers of photographers who cared.

Tara decided to live by these standards and launch her own company. From this foundation, TRaditions was born in 2008.

Tara Rose Carter, Jon Carter, and their daughter Bré.

Tara’s vision was to build a business grounded in loving people and to capture that love with a camera.

For clients, Tara wanted to create an unforgettable experience that offered expert photographers, studio-quality images, and reasonable pricing. For employees, she resolved to provide better wages, excellent training, and a rewarding career.

In 2013, her husband, Jon Carter, joined her to help expand the vision and grow the business model. Today, what started as a one-woman operation in the Northwest has grown into a nationwide company complete with a high-volume lab that offers photography services, printing services, and customizable retail products.

Nearly two decades later, TRaditions continues to deliver on its promise of high-quality experiences and excellent results at a reasonable price. Our name is a tribute to our roots, and a reminder of who we are.

With family and friendship at the core of every photography session, interaction, and transaction, TRaditions is a company that strives to deliver satisfaction, every single time.
